Day 1: Arrival to Fes

In the first day of your tour, our driver will pick you up from the airport. He will check for your accommodation.

Day 2: Fes City Tour (guided tour)

In the second day of your one week in Morocco, you will explore the cultural city of Morocco. In the morning, you will visit the old medina of Fez, the Royal Palace, the Mellah (Jewish quarter), and Bab Boujloud entrance. Fes medina, in fact, is rich in monuments, it is the oldest surviving city in the world. Fez, for sure, will charm you.

In addition to the above-mentioned monuments, you can explore Fes el-Bali. You will see also the madrassa, or the Quoranic school built in the 17th century. You can visit Al Quaraouine university, which is the oldest university in the world. After that, you will have free time to enjoy lunch in one of the traditional restaurants in the area.

After lunch, you will explore other interesting places in the city. Overnight at your Riad to prepare for another traveling journey.

Day 3: Fes –Ifrane- Azrou- Midelt- Erfoud- Merzouga desert – Erg Chebbi

In the second day, you wake up at 8:00. Then you start your journey. You travel to Merzouga via Ifrane, Azrou, and Midelt. You stop in the first destination, Ifrane, to see this beautiful city and take pictures. Then, you head to the Cedar forest of Azrou. You stop there to watch the wild monkeys. You can even feed them and take pictures. After that, you travel to midelt where you will have lunch.

After lunch, you travel to Merzouga. You pass through the beautiful gorges of the Ziz, a wonderful geological structure. Then, you cross Errachidia, a main city in the southeast, to arrive to Rissani. On the way, you will be impressed by the panoramic view of Ziz valley before you arrive to Merzouga.

when you arrive to Merzouga, you start another journey. If you have never tried a camel ride, your travel to Morocco will be a good opportunity to experiment this adventure. In Merzouga, you trek camels, with the camel guide, for almost one hour. The camels will take you into the heart of the Sahara desert. You will enjoy Erg Chebbi dunes along the ride. In addition, you will watch the most beautiful sunset in the Sahara. Overnight at your lux camp in the heart of the Merzouga desert. You spend your night under the starry sky. After dinner, you will enjoy the sings and dances of berbers.

Day 4: Merzouga- Toudra gorges – Dades Gorges- Ouarzazate.

Your 7 days Fes desert tour includes seeing the most beautiful destinations in the desert. In the third day, you will wake up early to watch the sunrise. After that, you will have your breakfast and you start your new adventure.

At about 8:00 a.m in the morning, you leave your lux camp riding camels back to Merzouga. After that, you travel to Ouarzazate. However, before you arrive to Ouarzazate, you will see the most beautiful places in the Shara Desert. You start by visiting Erfoud; a city famous for its fossilized marbles. There you will visit the workshop production of marble fossils. After that break, you travel to the Todra Gorges which is an ideal place for walking and exploring on your own. You will have lunch there before you drive through the town of Roses, Kelaa Mgouna. You continue your way across the Road of a Thousand-Kasbahs passing the Skoura palm grove until you arrive to Ouarzazate; a place named “Hollywood of Morocco.” Overnight at your hotel/riad.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

In the fourth day of your one week in Morocco, you will see one of the best places to visit in Morocco. it is the village of Ait Ben Haddou and its Kasbahs. The village of Ait Ben Haddou is a famous village known of its beautiful architecture. Located in a magic place, Ait Ben Haddou served as a background for several Hollywood movies. January and February are not suitable for booking this tour because it runs during these two months. The journey, therefore, becomes stressful, and more likely, you will spend your time at the hotel.

However, if you just need a break in Marrakech or Fez, it is possible to arrange a quick visit after the weather consultation.

In addition, June, July and August are also the worst months to travel to the desert. You will not resist heat as it becomes extremely hot. It is, therefore, better to avoid organized tours during these periods.

Ait BenHaddou, a UNESCO site

One week in Morocco wouldn’t be perfect if you didn’t visit Ait Benhaddou.

It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the ksar of Aït Ben Haddou is located in the province of Ouarzazate. This traditional caravan crossing point sits south of Telouet, in the Ounila valley. And it’s also a great example of Moroccan architecture.

The village of Aït Ben Haddou consists of a number of earthen buildings, nestled on the side of a hill. At the top, there is what is called an Agadir, which is a kind of collective granary. Surrounded by walls, the ksar is an emblematic cultural site of Morocco.

The ksar of Aït Ben Haddou is, therefore, a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. The defensive walls of the village protect the houses, and complete the corner towers of the city. Several dwellings are reminiscent of constructions similar to castles.

Small villages come together and form a heap of dwellings at the foot of the hills. In the past, the inhabitants of these small villages were nomads. The latter then opted for a sedentary lifestyle and settled in these traditional dwellings. Since 1987, the ksar of Aït Ben Haddou has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Many emblematic films and series have been filmed there since 1962. This site is also known for having housed bald ibis. Visiting Aït Ben Haddou is, therefore, a cultural and really interesting excursion that will punctuate your stay in Morocco!
